Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Senior Vice President of Real Estate Development to lead our real estate initiatives in Iceland. This senior-level position will play a critical role in the expansion and management of AWS’s real estate portfolio, ensuring that our facilities meet the highest standards of efficiency, sustainability, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the strategic planning, development, and execution of real estate projects in Iceland, aligning with AWS’s global objectives.
• Oversee site selection, acquisition, and development processes, ensuring compliance with local regulations and AWS standards.
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, developers, contractors, and community leaders.
• Develop and implement sustainability initiatives to minimize environmental impact and promote energy efficiency.
• Ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of projects, maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to support the overall business strategy.
• Monitor market trends and provide insights to inform future real estate investments and developments.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in real estate development, with a proven track record of leading large-scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of Icelandic real estate market and regulatory environment.
• Exceptional leadership and project management skills, with the ability to drive cross-functional teams.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
• Commitment to sustainability and innovation in real estate development.
• Willingness to travel as needed to support project requirements.
