PWC is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Chief Legal Officer (CLO) to join our executive team in Edinburgh. The ideal candidate will possess extensive legal expertise, exceptional leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to guide our legal department and support our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic legal advice to the executive team and board of directors.
- Oversee the legal department, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Develop and implement legal strategies to protect the company’s interests.
- Manage and mitigate legal risks by designing and implementing company policies and procedures.
- Lead and mentor a team of legal professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of legal strategies with business goals.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings, negotiations, and other formal settings.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to proactively address potential legal issues.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice law in the UK.
- Minimum of 15 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of providing strategic legal counsel in a corporate environment.
- Strong understanding of corporate law, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- High ethical standards and integrity.
