PWC is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Chief Legal Officer (CLO) to join our executive team in Edinburgh. The ideal candidate will possess extensive legal expertise, exceptional leadership skills, and a strategic mindset to guide our legal department and support our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic legal advice to the executive team and board of directors.
  • Oversee the legal department, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement legal strategies to protect the company’s interests.
  • Manage and mitigate legal risks by designing and implementing company policies and procedures.
  • Lead and mentor a team of legal professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of legal strategies with business goals.
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings, negotiations, and other formal settings.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to proactively address potential legal issues.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in the UK.
  • Minimum of 15 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Proven track record of providing strategic legal counsel in a corporate environment.
  • Strong understanding of corporate law, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • High ethical standards and integrity.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in the professional services industry.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of financial principles.
  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
