Senior Accounting Manager

Microsoft is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounting Manager to join our dynamic team in London. This is a senior-level position that requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, exceptional leadership abilities, and a strategic mindset. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing our accounting operations, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and driving continuous improvement in our financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
• Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth.
• Coordinate and manage external audits and ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations.
• Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, providing insights and recommendations for strategic decision-making.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives and drive financial performance.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in accounting operations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
• Proven experience in managing and developing high-performing teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
