Senior Accounting Manager

Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accounting Manager to join our team at Cognizant in Aarhus. This senior-level position is crucial for overseeing and managing the accounting operations within the Mining & Energy sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, exceptional leadership abilities, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes.
• Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Develop and maintain internal control policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
• Coordinate and manage the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors, and ensure timely completion of audits.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
• Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Collaborate with other departments to support overall company goals and objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in the Mining & Energy sector is highly desirable.
