Junior Mechanical Engineer

Description

We are seeking a motivated and talented Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at DXC in Iceland. This is an entry-level position ideal for recent graduates or individuals with limited experience in the engineering industry. As a Junior Mechanical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of construction projects, contributing to the design, development, and implementation of mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and development of mechanical systems for construction projects
• Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to ensure project specifications are met
• Conduct research and analysis to support engineering decisions
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and documentation
• Participate in site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with design and safety standards
• Support the testing and commissioning of mechanical systems
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Icelandic is a plus
