Avanade is seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief Sports and Recreation Officer to lead our sports and recreation initiatives in Aalborg. This executive-level position is ideal for a seasoned professional with a passion for sports, wellness, and community engagement. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to enhance our sports and recreation programs, ensuring they align with our organizational goals and community needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive sports and recreation strategy that promotes health, wellness, and community engagement.
• Oversee the management and operation of all sports and recreation facilities, ensuring they are safe, well-maintained, and accessible to all members.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of sports and recreation professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with local organizations, schools, and community groups to promote and expand our sports and recreation programs.
• Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making data-driven decisions to enhance offerings and ensure alignment with community needs.
• Manage the budget for sports and recreation programs, ensuring financial sustainability and optimal resource allocation.
• Stay current with industry trends and best practices, integrating innovative approaches to enhance our programs and services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Recreation, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in sports and recreation management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sports and recreation programs.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Financial acumen and experience managing budgets and resources effectively.
• Passion for sports, wellness, and community engagement.
