Covtech, a leading innovator in the IT & Communication industry in Iceland, is seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief Information and Communications Officer (CICO) to join our executive team. The CICO will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of our technology and communication initiatives, ensuring that Covtech remains at the forefront of industry advancements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the overall IT and communication strategy in alignment with Covtech’s business objectives.
• Lead and manage the IT and communications departments, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the company’s IT infrastructure and communication systems.
• Ensure the security, reliability, and scalability of Covtech’s technology platforms.
• Collaborate with other executive team members to identify and leverage technology opportunities that drive business growth.
• Manage relationships with external technology vendors and partners.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure Covtech remains competitive.
• Develop and manage the IT and communications budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and resource allocation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards in the IT and communication sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT and communications, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record of successfully leading large-scale IT and communication projects.
• Strong understanding of current and emerging technologies, including cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data analytics.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to think strategically and drive innovation.
• Experience managing budgets and financial planning.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
