Chief Information and Communications Officer (CICO)

Description

Microsoft is seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief Information and Communications Officer (CICO) to lead our IT and communications strategy in Iceland. This executive-level position requires a seasoned professional with a proven track record in the IT and communication industry, capable of driving innovation and ensuring the seamless integration of technology and communication systems across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive IT and communications strategy aligned with Microsoft’s global objectives and local market needs.
• Oversee the management of IT infrastructure, ensuring robust, secure, and scalable systems to support business operations.
• Lead the development and execution of communication strategies to enhance internal and external stakeholder engagement.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and leverage emerging technologies to drive business growth and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, maintaining the highest levels of data security and privacy.
• Manage and mentor a high-performing team of IT and communication professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
• Develop and manage the IT and communications budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and optimal resource allocation.
• Represent Microsoft Iceland in industry forums and build strategic partnerships with key stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Communications, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT and communications, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing IT and communication strategies in a large, complex organization.
• Strong understanding of current and emerging technologies and their potential business applications.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to think strategically and drive innovation.
• Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Icelandic is a plus.
