Senior Accounting Manager

Citibank is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Accounting Manager to join our team in Manchester. This senior-level position is ideal for a seasoned professional in the accounting industry who is looking to take on a leadership role within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and standards, including GAAP and IFRS.
• Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Prepare and present financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to senior management.
• Manage and mentor a team of accounting professionals, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
• Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies during audits and examinations.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
• Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
