Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO)

Description

Citibank is seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) to join our executive team in Odense. This pivotal role will drive our sustainability strategy and initiatives within the Mining & Energy industry, ensuring that our operations align with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement comprehensive sustainability strategies that align with Citibank’s goals and regulatory requirements.
• Lead cross-functional teams to integrate sustainable practices into all aspects of the Mining & Energy operations.
• Monitor and report on sustainability performance metrics, ensuring transparency and accountability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies, industry groups, and community organizations, to promote sustainable development.
• Advise the executive team on sustainability risks and opportunities, providing insights to inform strategic decision-making.
• Champion a culture of sustainability within the organization, fostering employee engagement and awareness.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in sustainability.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in sustainability roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position within the Mining & Energy industry.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sustainability initiatives.
• Strong understanding of ESG principles, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to think strategically and drive change in a complex, global organization.
• Experience working with diverse stakeholders and building collaborative relationships.
